Meet the Nominees for the 2026 Nordic Council Film Prize 

TIME WEDNESDAY AUGUST 26TH AT 18.00 – 19.00 VENUE: HAUGESUND PUBLIC LIBRARY 

The nominees for the 2026 Nordic Council Film Prize will be presented and celebrated during the Opening of New Nordic Films, where the nominated films and filmmakers will be introduced on stage. The presentation will be followed by the opening screening of Fjord (dir. Christian Mungiu). 

Join us at Haugesund Public Library for an exclusive conversation with the nominated filmmakers, moderated by Liselott Forsman, Managing Director of the Nordic Film & TV Fond. Following the discussion, guests are invited to a Nordic reception at the library. 

All nominated films will be screened throughout the festival in the days following the announcement. Please see the festival programme for screening dates and times.
