Ten-year-old Ronja lives in a tiny flat with her father and older sister Melissa, but dreams of a log cabin deep in the woods, under starry skies where wolves howl and wishes come true. It’s December and Dad is out of work again – until he lands a job as a Christmas tree seller – and for a while, everything smells of pine needles instead of beer. But old habits die hard, and when Dad drifts back to the local pub, the two sisters are left to fend for themselves once again.
