Ane (Trine Dyrholm) and her husband Thomas (David Dencik) are in the midst of a divorce, but have yet to tell their two daughters. Thomas moves in with his girlfriend, and everything seems to be settled until Ane suddenly suffers a stroke that paralyzes part of her body. This life-changing event puts an end to their divorce plans, forcing the couple to remain under the same roof while Ane works to recover. The film is told with candid, emotional dialogue and explores the complexities of “old and tired love” in relation to major transitions. Trine Dyrholm gives a powerful performance, in an emotionally resonant film about starting over when life takes an unexpected turn.
