The Love That Remains tenderly captures a year in a family's life. A year in which the parents slowly try to navigate their separation, but inevitably drift apart. With a mix of playfulness and depth, the film depicts the bittersweetness of a love that has faded, but where memories still bind – all against a backdrop of the quiet changing of the seasons. Hlynur Pálmason's fourth film is a beautiful and down-to-earth portrait of a family undergoing quiet but profound upheaval. After separating, Anna, an artist, and Magnús, a sailor who is often out at work, try to continue their everyday lives at home on the farm with their three children and their dog Panda.
