Gunnar reflects on his desperate attempts to get close to his son Jonathan. Their journey – marked by closeness, distance and reconciliation – leaves Gunnar confused, especially as Jonathan is drawn deeper into a world influenced by social media and questionable role models. This leads to a devastating downturn that shakes the entire family.

As a documentary filmmaker, Gunnar has been filming his family and loved ones for over 20 years in a sincere attempt to understand himself and his relationships. Raised without a father figure, he had to figure out the role of father on his own, supported by outdated masculine ideals. Despite his clumsy and old-fashioned ways, he develops a strong bond with his son Jonathan.
