Retro vlogger ELLIOT (45) is forced to leave his apartment for an institutional care facility. While clearing it out, he finds an old videotape with home video footage from a deserted house. The final image shows a stain from a decomposed body. Haunted by the image, Elliot sets out on a solitary journey across the countryside to find the house, only to discover the stain has vanished. Repressed memories surface, and he realizes he has been there before.
Director
Johannes Nyholm is a Swedish writer, director and producer. Weird Elliot is his third feature film, following The Giant (Toronto, San Sebastian, 2016) and Koko-di Koko-da (Sundance, 2019). His short film Las Palmas became an international breakthrough, and he has had three short films selected for Directors' Fortnight in Cannes. His work often combines emotional realism with dark humor, the surreal, and handcrafted visual storytelling.
